* Electric vehicles will become more important than ever in the bid to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from automobiles; $11 trillion will be needed to build more factories and develop the batteries and infrastructure needed for a widespread switch to electric vehicles—the total number of which could grow to nearly 950 million by 2050.
* Carbon capture and storage, which Morgan Stanley says is the only viable option for reducing emissions from coal-fired plants, is another key area and would need almost $2.5 trillion of investment.
* Hydrogen can help provide clean fuel for power, cars and other industries—it will require almost $20 trillion of cumulative investments to help make the gas, increase capacity to power plants and manage its storage.

Anyone that has researched the value of Electric Vehicles (EVs) basically reaches the same conclusion: they make no damn sense. Here is a short list of why they make no sense.
* Most of the minerals required for EVs involve child slave labor
* Moving to EVs advantages China who controls the minerals, patents
* The cost of replacing the battery after the warranty lapses (8 years or 100,000 miles) can run between $15,000 for a Hybrid and upwards of $30,000 for a fully electric EV.
* EVs have to be recharged every 200 to 300 miles: far less if you are pulling a heavy load
* Cold weather further depletes the driving range
* EVs rely on fossil fuels to charge the Lithium batteries
The push for a Green Agenda, EV's and autonomous cars is all based on a big fat lie
There is no Anthropogenic Climate Change (e.g., Man Made) and CO2 levels are not a problem and have been far higher before humans began populating the planet some 300,000 years ago. It is not like the dinosaurs were creating industrial pollution.

I think the whole climate change movement is about global control as you can't control the climate. I also think it distracts from a multiplicity of real anthropogenic catastrophes: Plastic/Waste pollution in our oceans, foods, soil; chemicals and human health (PFAS, Glyphosate, Endocrine disruptors) etc. The UN has been using "Global Warming" as an excuse to control the planet since the late 1960's.

Residents and Michigan Republicans have mobilized against the project citing concerns about Gotion’s ties to China and the possible environmental impact of a 500-acre battery park in Green Charter Township and Big Rapids. Marketed to Congress as a benign tool to help prevent drunk driving, the measure will mandate that automobile manufacturers build into every car what amounts to a “vehicle kill switch.” As has become standard for legislative mandates passed by Congress, this measure is disturbingly short on details. What we do know is that the “safety” device must “passively monitor the performance of a driver of a motor vehicle to accurately identify whether that driver may be impaired.”First, use of the word “passively” suggests the system will always be on and constantly monitoring the vehicle. Secondly, the system must connect to the vehicle’s operational controls, so as to disable the vehicle either before driving or during, when impairment is detected. Thirdly, it will be an “open” system, or at least one with a backdoor, meaning authorized (or unauthorized) third-parties can remotely access the system’s data at any time.
This is a privacy disaster in the making, and the fact that the provision made it through the Congress reveals — yet again — how little its members care about the privacy of their constituents.
The lack of ultimate control over one’s vehicle presents numerous and extremely serious safety issues; issues that should have been obvious to Members of Congress before they voted on the measure. For example, what if a driver is not drunk, but sleepy, and the car forces itself to the side of the road before the driver can find a safe place to pull over and rest? Considering that there are no realistic mechanisms to immediately challenge or stop the car from being disabled, drivers will be forced into dangerous situations without their consent or control. The choice as to whether a vehicle can or cannot be driven — for vehicles built after 2026 — will rest in the hands of an algorithm over which the car’s owner or driver have neither knowledge nor control.

Ford was interviewed Monday morning at a South by Southwest event in Austin, Tex. He addressed big-picture issues facing car companies, consumers, and government as the industry makes a transition toward electric and autonomous vehicles. Ford says that traffic is crippling transportation in big cities around the world, which holds people back from buying cars in the first place. And the latest technology isn’t exactly helping the problem. Ride-hailing services like Uber are still adding to cars to the road, Ford says. At least, for now. He spoke about Ford’s Chariot “van pooling” business, which helps the daily commute for service-industry workers . “What it does for cities is actually take vehicles off the road,” Ford said, since up to 14 people can fit in a single van. The big hope is that autonomous vehicles can eventually reduce congestion as well. People might not feel the need to have their own cars if they could just summon self-driving ones that could be programmed to arrive at a given time. “The notion of individual ownership is changing,” Ford said. “Our business model will change dramatically.”

I think for an automaker like Ford, that's a huge change in such a short amount of time. Is it something you felt like you had to do or something that you wanted to do?
Ford CEO Mark Fields: I think it's a combination of both. And I think it first starts with taking a point of view on the future. For a lot of businesses, the future is just a five-year business plan and every year you just add another year to that plan. Our approach has been to take a point of view on what we think the world is going to look like in the next 10 to 15 years.
Part of developing that point of view on the world is looking at societal trends, looking at consumer preferences, looking at things like what's happening with the growth of big cities around the world. The issue of air pollution and air quality. Then developing a strategy in that world in terms of where we want to play and how we want to win, rewind back to today and make some strategic choices.
I think about half the world's population lives in cities. Our view, and others', is by the next 15 years that could be literally two-thirds of the population. So that will mean more congestion. The infrastructure is not going to be able to handle that. That's a threat to our business and one of our motivations. What we need to do now is to first adjust to that and, secondly, view that as an opportunity. Particularly along the lines of stepping back and looking at the transportation system. Then where do we want to play within that and, importantly, talking to cities to understand what problems they want to solve. And how can we bring assets and business models in that maybe weren't natural but are a natural extension of Ford?

At a time that China is threatening a war on Taiwan this is tantamount to treason and I am actually concerned the China may soon declare a direct war on the United States. There is no good reason to transition to EV's at this time as the United States has enough fossil fuels for the next 200 years. Meanwhile Biden is doing everything he can to make fossil fuels more expensive which is responsible for the 10% inflation we have endured since he took office in 2021. Frankly I'd like to knock that shit eating smile off his face as he continues to destroy our republic. It will be up to the American People to rise up and demand an immediate end to EV production.
And the truth is that stopping EV production is but one challenge before us.

Now with the bankruptcy of the Silicon Valley Bank we can add -- a Depression level bank run. Unfortunately Biden supports all of these initiatives which, in my mind, means he is committing treason against the ,American People. The overarching goal is to impoverish the world’s population and force them to accept a Digital Currency (CBDC) which will usher in a system of Global Slavery. And sadly most world leaders support Digital Currency and are also committing treason against their citizens, as they collectively push for a Global New World Order.
